Finnester Coatings Oy has taken significant development steps during the past year while developing the RED product family to solve the fire safety concerns related to composites. The work to bring the offering to the markets has progressed well and the recently opened own fire lab is fully occupied demonstrating the strength of the solution at customer applications. To expedite the implementation of the strategy, Finnester completed a financing round during which also new investors joined the team of shareholders.
Finnester Coatings Oy strategy is to develop new solutions to solve the fire safety issues related to composites. The core of the strategy is to “complete the composites” and bring solutions to the markets which the composite manufacturers can use their best possible composite structures without compromising on the characteristics and with Finnester RED family products achieve the fire protection needed to fulfil the requirements of industry standards. The development work has taken significant steps during the past year. The industry changing RED fire protection product range includes now solutions for outdoor and indoor applications with which it is also possible to protect the composites against other critical environmental conditions and achieve ready surface finish according to the end use requirements.
Finnester RED has raised a lot of interest among the composite industry and the opening of the new in-house fire lab has been welcomed by the customers. “We have lab full of customer samples with which we are proving our solution at the markets. With this significant and important investment, we can expedite the testing and also take huge leaps in developing better solutions and perfecting the coatings with the customer composites. With own lab we can control the tests, ensure the results, learn from the work performed, and offer to our customers best possible service to complete their composites” says Ari Hokkanen, founder and CTO of the company.
Investing into these capabilities and to the work to demonstrate the possibilities is part of the made strategy which is progressing in schedule. The received funding connected to the development progress is an important step on the path to success. “I am glad the investors, old and new ones, share the vision of the company and supports the achieved development. This offers us a strong foundation to implement the next strategy steps to develop the company towards the set targets.” says Jari Hurttia who recently joined the company as the new CEO.
